Review: Blackout Phase II 7-String Set

Since i wanted to swap the bridge EMG 707 in my Schecter Hellraiser for something brighter(81-7) and an 81-7 cost only about 50 euros less than a full set of Blackouts i thought i'd take the plunge and just get the Blackout set. Put them in on tuesday and after playing with them for a while i present you my oppinion directly comparing them to the EMGs.

First of all, everything about them on the SD page is true. More quiet, less scooped mids, more output, better dynamics, more lows, more highs.... just overall better than the EMGs.
I put them in with 18V to begin with since i had been using two batteries with the EMGs(definitely improved the EMGs) and thought i'd give it a try before rewireing everything. Blackouts at 18V and 9V sound pretty much the same, but BOs at 9V sound like EMGs at 18V should. Great, saves me the space and weight for the second batt.

Blackout neck: a lot like the 707 but clearer, maybe a little brighter and with some added mids. Quite a bit tighter than the 707 but both pups have the same basic character and i like it. Some added output over the 707.

Blackout bridge: Also a lot like the 81-7 buth more balls to the sound and not as fizzy on the highend. Not as thin as the EMg counterpart and with the added mids harmonics jump out even more.
