RFT tubes

Re: RFT tubes

They break up kind of early and are a bit dull in the top end...not a bad kind of dull they just lack a little bit of top end a lot of other tubes have. Overall I like them for some amps but not for everything. They were stock tubes in JMP Marshalls for a long time...

What do you want them for??

Well I have to say that I am pretty happy with the combo of ECC83 combo of balanced, high gains and goldpin from JJ in my pre-amp I've just read that RTF's are "hard rock" tube so I thought how would they compare say, to JJ ECC83 hi-gaing ? I am really into warm, pronounced mids, rolled of highs, and tight bottom end, harmonicly complex euro typa pre-amp, JJs answear that requirement pretty well so I read that RTF is a german "hard rock" ECC83 tube so it got me wondering.

The RFT tubes don't have as much gain as the JJ's (not by a long shot) and they are not gonna have that real tigh bottom end...

I highly recomend shooting the Tube Tramp a note. Terry has owned several of these amps and really knows how to voice them in. I think the AOR is perhaps the most sensitive amp to pre tubes that I know of. The can really benefit from a mix of different pre tubes to really bring the most out of them. I think you would really be pleased....

you have got to be joking!!!! what do you base this B.S. on?? JJ tubes are all over the place on MU, most are under 100 rating. I have a dozen or more RFT ECC83`s how many do you have??
