I have one too, don't always use it, but the "original" is just as good as any, and cheaper. I got mine new off 'verb for ~ $60.

Works well with a SD-1 in front too, assuming you are running into a clean-ish amp, a Deluxe maybe?

About to put it through its paces... in front of a Plexi and a '66 Deluxe.

I'll try the stacking with a J Rockett Archer IKON & MXR CBMOD but I've never really been a fan of stacking.

Honestly, unless ultra tweezed, teemed, and tweaked Rat is your thing, a Rat 2 is all the Rat you'll ever need. I of course, prefer the uber-modes and assym clipping of the Proco Solo, but that's me.

Yup! It makes the RAT have the extra brilliant sort of sound.

I think it's because a Klon by design preserves some clean which allows the rat to re-clip the clipped portion but more importantly mix that with the Rat clipping the clean tone portion too.
