One of my guys brought me a Chinese Tele body that weighed around a pound and a half, an old Peavey Nitro neck, and a set of G&L locking tuners. What could I do for cheaps? I put a Wilkinson bridge on it, a couple Bill Lawrence units, and some spare hardware to make it all fit. My gawd, this is fun to play! And it sounds fantastic. The neck unit sounds full, open, and deep - great for chords or single notes, both units on have a great R'n'B tone or country twang, and the bridge pickup has plenty of meat - but it's sharp like a knife! I keep having to turn the tone down because it's so trebly. A little neck heavy, but during play it's not a problem. If I crank up the gain, it squeals a bit if you get too close to the amp. Played it through my phone and the owner can't wait to pick it up on Saturday.
