I had an Ibanez that looked like a Schecter. A SZ720FM in cherry red. It was a sweet player. Big neck. I prefer the early 80's Schecters myself. They made some killer superstrats back in the day.
Had an O07 Elite a few years back, and then C7FR. The former had a cool shape, but lacked in ergonomy. The latter had a neck I could not bound with, because of its shape and scale length.
As a brand, not my thing, but both guitars were well built.
I love Schecter guitars. I have an Omen Extreme S-2 tuned to D standard with Nazgul/Sentient pups installed. It sounds great and feels great, especially for a budget guitar. My next guitar will either be a Schecter (eyeing that Solo-II Custom) or a Charvel.
I'd love to get / have gotten the chance to play one of those strats that ErikH mentioned. Never did though and at this stage unlikely - especially in Europe.
They also sold necks, bodies and possibly other components during that same period. I bet they were nice.
I have a couple, a black Solo II Custom and a prototype (love DCGL) Sun Valley Shredder Exotic with baked maple neck and swamp ash body with lacewood top. Sorry for the crappy pics.

Those are mahogany and MII FWIW, but supposed to be really nice, I haven't tried them, seafoam green doesn't really do it for me. I really like the Korina exotics though and it was a toss up on those, but, they are production so will be around a while. The ash/lacewood is a prototype so it's one of a kind, the only thing I don't like about it is the black binding on the neck, maple strat-type necks should not have binding (IMHO).
I'm a little late to the party but love Schecter! Would buy more.
Bought a C-1 Classic (MIK) on eBay on a whim back in 2006 and it has been a wonderful workhorse since. It's played well with lots of pickups, has been stable through many different tunings, the neck feels great, and I love the gaudy look. Makes me feel like I'm playing a much more expensive guitar, but bang for buck this one is off the charts.
I had an A7 Avenger I bought off a forum bro here for a few years, and it felt just as much like home. It had to go to finance others but damn, top notch for such an affordable guitar
