What does this mean though? That they arent all that great but since you dont pay much its ok? Or are they actually good?

I have a Damien Elite 8 and it really is a great guitar. Sturdy, stays in tune and has a great neck. I just don't like the EMG 808s. The neck pup is pretty good but the bridge sucks.

Overall though, it is definitely great for the price which was $600.

I did play a Hellraiser, not sure which one and hated it. You need to try them out. A lot of people are raving about the Keith Merrow signature model as well as the Loomis model.

Basically what I was implying was that you will not get a Charvel Custom Shop guitar out of a sub-$500 Schecter; however, that sub-$500 Schecter is an awesome guitar. I thought the quality and tone was awesome, I just prefer smaller/shorter frets than what was on the Schecter Omen I had.

I have played some amazing Schecters over the years. I even considered buying a few of them back in 2008 or so. I probably would still buy one if it was the right one for me and I was in a position to buy it. Just like any other guitar brand out there Schecter has some duds too, but, for the most part I have been impressed with some of the ones I have played in the past.

I had a Korean revenger. The build quiality was good just the hardware let it down a bit.

I've always like the Schecter C-1 series. I thought they were very well made and played well. I would have probably replaced the pickups, but the BIG deal for me was the 24-fret neck. I really prefer guitars with a 22-fret neck. The only one of the C-1s that came with a 22 was the one with P-90s. Would have loved to have found one, but never did--at a price I could justify.

The 12-string and the 6-string semi-hollows were cool guitars too.
