Phat Staple, it just looks so weird that Id love to hear it.

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

The Zephyr Silver for 70 bucks!!! :lmao:

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

But,...but,...then they wouldn't be Custom shop made pickups now would they?

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

I voted Brobucker and 78, but would also add the Diablo.

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

'78 and diablo

Phat Staple. There is a clip of it somewhere on these forums when there was an introductory price to forum members (1/2 price, iirc). I really wish they'd do that again.

Although, I'd love to have a poll of which pickups would you remove from the Duncan line if they were going to add something back in. There's a handful of products I look at and think, "Who really buys that at high enough volume to sell in the regular line?"

+1.

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

I voted 78 a while back, but I'd like to change my vote to Crazy 8 since I actually bought one and think it's just a phenomenal pickup. I don't have any hate for the 78, but I don't have any experience with it either.

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

the RTM. I don't care if it doesn't even have the autographs on it. there are plenty of other artist model that are production models, this would be a great one.

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

Another vote for El Diablo and some variation of that pickup design in production.

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

It's never going to happen, specially considering I live in bloody RoHS continent, but anyway my vote goes to the Phat Staple.

I'm still pissed from the last time they made a run of Phat Staples and I couldn't buy one because of the RoHS norm... and I don't think I'm gonna get over that, EVER!

Interesting! That's the same as the Holdsworth or an educated guess based on similarity in looks and specs?

Apparently, the Holdsworth SD has been selling for years isn't at all what he actually uses- his is much lower in output. He doesn't even have neck pickups in most of his guitars, either. I'd rather SD adjust the specs to match what he actually uses.

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

It wasn't listed, but I'd vote for the Holdsworth pickup. At this year's UGD, I made an AH pickup with the James Hetfield specs that have been discussed in other threads. It's a killer, high gain pickup that is versatile with the use of your volume knob. Now I wonder how awesome the neck AH is.

I know this is an OLD post in an OLD thread that was recently resurrected...

But what're the Hetfield specs of the AH1?

Re: SD Custom Shop humbuckers you want to be Regular Production Humbuckers

One more thing about the Holdsworth- seems his bridge pickup is really a 59 neck pickup with 2 rows of screws.

JB actually, with double Fillisters and an A2 mag.

the 78 for me, seems to be more versatile with good range !
