SD humbucker and polarity.

My HSS pickguard was delivered today. I'll be installing a Screamin' Demon in my Strat tonight. Do I have to reverse the ground and hot as you do with a Seymour Duncan single coil with Fender single coils? Thanks for the help.

I got the humbucker installed but the bridge with middle pickup doesn't sound right at all. It sounds super thin and kind of weak. What do I need to do to correct it? Thank you.

Would I need to ground the black and bare wire and run the green wire to the switch? Sorry for all of the questions. It's my first attempt wiring a HSS Strat.

What about the bare wire? Are the green/bare wires considered the same/together?

Bare wire must go to ground whatever is the wiring used. it's an independant grounding wire linked to the baseplate (while the wires coated in colored plastic are those of the coils themselves, wired separately).

I got the wiring corrected and now it sounds really good. I was thinking about trying a Pearly Gate if the Screamin’ Demon didn’t work out. But, the SD sounds incredible and I don’t think I need to get a Pearly for this particular guitar. So, this little venture turned out alright. I’ve got a HSS Strat that I’ve always wanted and saved some money not having to buy a new pickup. It sure is nice when the pieces fall into place!

Wow, that looks great!

Thanks, Mincer!
The Screamin had a cover but I didn't like the look so I removed it. I think the black bobbins highlight the black details on the guitar. Details like the fret markers and the black layer in the pickguard. There's one more upgrade (locking tuners) I need to do and I'll be finished with this guitar. The upgrades I've done so far include a new pickguard, pickup (kind of), a Callaham block and arm, new bridge screws.
