Really? See, that's some LOW ssshhhttt man. I could never bring myself to do that, and I had the opportunities. Back in the early 80s some guy at a club asks me to watch his Les Paul while he went to the can. Never met him before nor did I ever see him again. I could have just walked off with this beautiful white custom...but I couldn't do it. Another time some guys stole an SG and I could have bought it for two bills. I had it for a few days, but couldn't bring myself to buy it. Wanted to. I was only 18 and even then two bills for a nearly new SG was dirt cheap. I'm very, very sorry that happened to you man.

1966. Laminate Rosewood neck. Craquelure psychedelic paint job done in the '70's by an unknown assailant. Now sporting a Duncan Antiquity in the treble position. At least the other two PUPs seem to be orig.

blackie 004.jpg

Here's mine. My first Partscaster build. Clapton Blackie neck, Jimmie Vaughan body, GFS tremolo block. Callaham saddles, and a D. Allen loaded pick guard with Tru-62 pickups with the tone controls wired Jimmie Vaughan style. My ultimate tribute to Blackie, without the active electronics and stuff. More era correct to the original. Plays great and sounds great.

This is my 91 Strat Plus Deluxe. I bought i new back then as i had been saving up money from playing blues gigs around Melbourne (was using a jap strat before that). This one did a lot of work and i still use it for recording and experimenting with pickups etc. even tho i mainly use gibsons live. Its not a collectors item, nor a particularly valuable guitar, but shes been with me a long time and means a lot to me. Despite the bulletproof poly finish, you can see from the back that its been played a lot. Im currently waiting delivery of JB to drop in the bridge for its 9th pickup configuration incarnation (originally it had laces, but its had various strat pickups and pafs too). Right now it has all ssl-1's which are far and away the best set of strat pickups ive tried. Roller nut, sperzels, push in trem arm.
