I apreciate seeing your hordes of uber-axes, but I'm only going to consider one, and it might not be the one you want. Just edit the orifginal post with ENTRY: [guitar description] So I frakkin know what you want to play with.

Thank you - the management.

Re: SDUG Ultimate SUPERSTRAT preliminaries

i want to know more about those pickups. other than the japanese translation

All I can say is that they're awesome. They respond incredibly well when you hit the strings. They're very clear and makes it sound like you have room to make chords without getting muddy and makes your vibrato sound defined. It's fairly high output like a JB. I would say that there's kind of a bright edge to them but this guitar has an ash body so that might be what gives it the sizzle. I think the neck pickup is particularly awesome.

The tone is subjective, but I think when you play those pickups besides other brands, you can tell there's a difference in how they respond. They're just really good pickups. I have a nice variety of Seymour Duncan and Dimarzio pickups to compare with and I would say that these have a response close to how Dimarzios respond. Even better are the SuperRock III's which come with the really expensive models. I played several of those guitars when I was in Japan and those pickups are even better. They're less grainy and a little more low mids.

I can't find any official info on what magnets are in them but they're apparently alnico 5. I want to try alnico 2 magnets in them but I'm afraid of messing them up trying to take them apart.

Whoops....

I tossed up the ones I had pictures off so someone else could pick one. I don't want to nominate my own guitar, so you pick one Ace.

2006 XSSIVE Charvel Clone. Ash body, Rosewood fretboard, JB in the bridge and Vintage Rails in the neck. No Floyd but Jake E Lee got by without one.

But what counts is trying? No?

Kinda what I thought as well, I half-expected the Stinnett to be picked but I just can't not show my love for Izzy and the Washy, those two were the ones I used as templates when deciding things on the Stinnett and love them both quite a bit...

Oh yeah. Now that's a real Schecter. That's from the days when they were a USA custom shop, isn't it? Before they became a mass importer of Korean guitars?

It's brand new. I just got it in Japan about a week ago. They only offer them in Japan. The stuff they sell here in the U.S. are the Korean stuff. I posted a couple of threads of some guitars I got in Japan with more info on the specs if you want to check them out.
