Well, you can probably do without it for the most part I think.
You can simply use a bottom bearing pattern router bit for the edge including the neck pocket.
The holes for the strings can simply be extended to the front from the existing ones......which will give you 1 reference for the bridge.
Neck can be placed in as you still have those holes too......which will give you the ability to fully set the bridge and drill mounting holes.
Once that is done you can place the pickguard centrally, allowing tracings of the pickup locations.
If the same pickups have been there already, simply drill out the top and use a bottom bearing pattern bit to enlarge to existing size.
The electrics cavity might need a fence or two to rout if its hollow under this bit. The pickguard location will give you this cover locality. Its just a matter of making sure the width/length is enough to get electrics in and still mount the screws.
