Didn't you get it from GC? Where are the hang tags or warranty card stuff?

Yeah, I did, I have them. I looked at them, but looked more like stock numbers than serial. I was in a bit of a rush, so Ill look in more detail, but IIRC, the numbers on the tags started with 8s and looks like the serial starts with 11 or 17

It used to be the 1st and the 5th digits of the serial, at least my '02 Faded V had that sequence. I know it wasn't always like that and could have very well changed to something else since I had mine....
If its a new 2017 guitar, then it should be 1 and a 7 at the fifth position, not the 1st and 2nd like you thought, even though that seems obvious enough to me and others.....does that match up with what you have??
