Hi Folks,
I’m new to this forum, but not really a novel when it comes to electric guitars and how to modify them.
But now I have a question which I can’t resolve by myself.
I’m building together a new Thinline Tele from Warmoth parts which will be equipped with two SD Seth Lover (Neck and Bridge version), splittable (4 wire conducting cable).
The switch will be a 5-way Megaswitch (P-version, details: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Components:_Switches_and_knobs/2/Megaswitches.html
to achieve exactly the 5 Paul Reed Smith positions:
Pos 1: Brigde HB
Pos 2: outer coils of the the two HB, parallel
Pos 3: inner coils of the two HB, serial
Pos 4: inner coils of the two HB, parallel
Pos 5: Neck HB
Now I have the following doubts: which are the inner and which are the outer coils?
When I look at the PRS guitars, I can see that they are mounted “mirrored”, with the screws of the Pickups (polepieces) pointing respectively to the neck and the bridge.
Do I have to mount my “Seth Lover”s in the same way to achieve the same result or do I have to mount them differently?
Or asking in a different way:
Which one is the starter coil in the Seth Lover PU’s: is it the one with the screws or the covered one (no visible screws).
Is this sequence the same for the neck and bridge position?
In other threads i read something about the Pickups needing to have reverse polarity. Is that true? Or are the set of Seth Lovers already reverse wound one to each other?
I hope that I was able to explain my problem and that anyone can help me.:scratchch
Thanks in advance
