The Seth is a little thicker, whereas the Antiquity is more airy. If you are looking for creamy tones, I'd try the Seth first.

Bridge PUs are similar, the Seth is slightly heavier but tonewise there's not a huge difference.
The necks show more difference, the antiquity is more "open", it has an acoustic tone you won't find on the Seth. The Seth is rounder and more classic.
Both PU sets are great , I use the Ants in a LP and the Seths in a PRS Mc Carty and really like them.
I'd rather go for the Antiquities in a LP. The neck PU does a real great job in those axes !

Hi Brisk! I'd go for the Seth. Depends on the guitar, but of the two, the Seth seems to me to have the fatter, fuller, warmer tone. It did in the guitar I tried them both in: a '92 Hamer solid body Studio Custom. In the neck position, I tried both a Seth neck AND then a Seth bridge pickup and finally an Antiquity neck. The Antiquity neck seemed brightest in that guitar. I liked the Seth Lover neck model best of the three...in that particular guitar. Lew

Brisk, it seems to me that you just described the tone of an A2P when you said creamy and sweet tone with a soft edge.
Don't mean to pee in your cornflakes, but I think both the seth and the anti are traditional PAF puips and that means a certain high end spike that I would not describe as a "soft edge" to my ears.

Scott could be right about the A2P...that one's worth considering. But I don't hear a high end spike from the Seths in my guitars. From what I understand, the Seth has matched coils which tends to give a warmer tone then the unmatched coils in the Antiquity. I guess that's what I hear as being brighter about the Antiquity: brighter and a certain hollow quality to the tone with more texture and complexity to the midrange. The Seth seems denser and fatter...the Antiquiy less so, which gives it a little more clarity and, at least in my guitar, a brighter tone. Lew

Could be that I have a very bright and responsive Lester that I tried all these out in. In fact, it's one of the brightest Les Pauls I've ever played. I've had to monkey around with it a bit. I bumped up from 300k to 500k CTS pots, but then I messed with the tone cap to bring the highs back down a bit.
Even with the 300k pots, it was still a very bright and lively guitar. I much prefer it to a dark and dead guitar!
I can always adjust my tone controls on the amp.

I change my vote. The A2 pro is smooth and creamy, I love mine and use it for those tones.
