Seth Lovers Vs. 59's

I have an Epiphone Dot with Seth Lovers and a Heritage H140 with 59's. The 59's seem to have more punch, more output. But a local SD dealer told me the Seth Lover's were hot rodded 59's. I don't buy that because I thought the 59's were wax potted and Alinco V, but the Seth's were unpotted and Alnico II's. I can't find any info that shows the output comarison other than the product page which lists them both as "moderate" output.

Would the Epi being a Semi-Hollow make the pups quieter? (The entire wiring harness has been replaces with Switchcraft/CTS and push-back cloth wiring). The 140 rocks like no tomorrow! The output is much much higher than my Epi...

thoughts?

Re: Seth Lovers Vs. 59's

the dot might make the pups a touch quieter but the seths are not hot rodded anythings. the are about as vintage as you can find other than the antiquitys

both are takes on the gibson paf pups of the late 50's. you are correct that the 59 is a5 and potted and the seth is a2 and not potted

Re: Seth Lovers Vs. 59's

Both are low 'vintage wind' PU's. '59's have A5 magnets which are higher output than the A2's in Seth's. '59's will be a little louder, but not by much.
