Seymour Duncan mV Data

Re: Seymour Duncan mV Data

sometimes, when I play guitar, if i hold my breath really long, eventually I start to lose consciousness and just as i'm on the verge of blacking out, assuming I can still hear my guitar tone or even just stand up if I haven't already collapsed in a fleshy heap, I hallucinate graphs and frequency response curves that dance in unison with my guitar strings.

It's surreal.

Y'all should try it.

I haven't heard rationalizations like that since I spent a weekend with David Carradine.

Re: Seymour Duncan mV Data

Has anyone else noticed that according to those #s that the PB has less output than the 59? Wasn't the PB marketed as being an in-between ground of the 59 and the JB? Outside of not quite hearing it, those #s seem to prove it.

Re: Seymour Duncan mV Data

Great!!! Super!! Knowing very well pickups like the JB, Custom or Invader. I can now estimate a lot more accurately about the rest. Great job! Bravo!

Re: Seymour Duncan mV Data

Demon and WLH is lower output than Jazz??

Anyway this thread should be stickied.

I'm still waiting for an answer for post #62 from anyone who actually works at SD that can ask people in Engineering.

Re: Seymour Duncan mV Data

Being a difference of about 500 turns per bobbin between the Seth Lover neck and bridge, it's highly unlikely that both produced exactly the same output... unless the Gauss charge of the magnet present in the Seth bridge was 10% less than the neck one.

HTH,

Re: Seymour Duncan mV Data

After a trip through Excel, here they are in order by output. I hope someone other than myself finds this helpful.

Re: Seymour Duncan mV Data

Sorry for the bump, but I have a stupid question.... Where is this new pickup selector page at?

Re: Seymour Duncan mV Data

Bump. The link above is the VIDEO pup selector. Where is the new one?(the one Scott showed us)

Re: Seymour Duncan mV Data

Something is wrong.

First of all, if this was really done with a 50k input impedance, the results are darn near meaningless.

Second of all, there is simply *no way* a SH10N full shred neck rivals the output of a JB. None. Sorry. I'm not even going to get into a mathematical discussion, the premise is flawed on its face.

7.4k of 42ga wire with an A5 and allen screw poles possesses no magic that would make it produce that kind of voltage. You might get something approaching that with 7.4k of 40 ga wire, but you couldn't fit it in the coils.

It's interesting, but I'd recommend going back to the drawing board.
