Also look at the destroyer in the photo above(I have that picture-poster hung in my bar),the pickup is a cream colored mighty mite distortion(ceramic magnet)pickup, its not a dimarzio super distortion because it doesnt have the small holes on the pickup like the dimarzio super distortion has.
There's always room for cello.

and here![]()
he had a Dano neck like that on his Frankie for a while around the time of that thing he did with Brain May... i heard the guys at Charvel's shop had a batch of those Danonecks they got from somewhere... even Randy Rhoads pokadot V is said to of been one of these Dano necks with no truss rod...
those necks are great if you can find em!
Dano necks are horrible IMO. the tone of an old Dano with lipsticks is golden, but the necks are unplayable IMO.
are you refering to the old originals?
Yes.
that polka dot V had a dano neck:naughty:
No way!!?? But your right, either love em or hate em.
I recieved the Duncan custom SH-5 yesterday(I had to order it),installed it and it has that openness and the midrange cut that you hear on Van halen 1,its a great souding pickup for that sound. It drives hard, has that crunch also.I like it better then the custom custom SH-11 especially for the van halen 1 sound, the custom custom didnt have the cut or drive that the duncan custom SH-5 achieves, anyway I wanted to report back.
How does the Duncan 78 compare to the duncan custom SH-5 soundwise.
