I'm an older male in my 60s I bought a Honeyburst Fender performer Statocaster 2 weeks ago I asked the guitar Tech to install a Seymour Duncan SSL5 custom pickup in the bridge my Fender performer sounds absolutely amazing I don't have any issues with it whatsoever it works well with the other Yosemite middle and neck pickups I haven't had an electric for years and decided to go back to playing one again I saw the Fender performer in the sales in my local guitar store and got it for a decent price I had been looking at the Fender pro 2 a year ago but I also liked the performer as I love the push pull Greasebucket circuit and slimmer neck so I am glad I chose this one I have been playing acoustics for many years now I have 4 acoustic guitars I have a new Gibson Montana J45 standard a Taylor GTe urban ash a Taylor 117e Grand Pacific and a Fender California series 12 string acoustic I actually play my Taylor 117e more than the others most of the time because it has a great sounding tone and I just put a new set of D, darrio XS strings on it and it sounds even better than when I first bought it over a year ago I love my new J45 but I also love the smoothness and brighter sound of my Taylor's too Anyway I am really pleased with my Fender performer and Seymour Duncan SSL5 pickup haven't put the guitar down since I bought it Andy Glasgow Scotland 🥰 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

glad you have a new guitar that you are happy with and inspires you to play!

Lots of Strat players love the SSL5 in the bridge- I think it makes an SSS Strat usable for me, too!

Not a fan of the SSL5 in the neck and middle, but am in the bridge. I have run SSl5's in the bridge of several Strats. It gets the bridge pickup output at least in the ballpark of my other humbucker guitars yet still has the character of a true single when you roll back the volume a little or run it with a lower output middle single.

I'm also a big fan of the SSL5 in the bridge of a strat. It's just more usable for the stuff I want to play than a vintage output bridge.
