SG Lovers Only: Your Perfect SG

Re: SG Lovers Only: Your Perfect SG

It would have 2 humbuckers, a thin neck, and be either white or black with an ebony FB like an LP Custom.

I only play Metal.

Cost? $1500 - $2000 at most. Those SGs with the split triangles aren't too bad either.

You did say perfect....

Just saw one at GC. $1299

SG Fatboy:

Re: SG Lovers Only: Your Perfect SG

My first really good guitar was my SG Standard. I bought it new in either 68 or 69. I replace a Fender Jaguar that was stolen(1963) with it. I played that guitar from when I first got it until 1987. It was my only electric & I played the crap out of it. I STILL have that guitar today.... there is a picture of it in my gear sig. I don't play her much today, but when I do I remember very quickly why I did. It is such a great playing and sounding guitar. Somewhere around 1976 or 77 I replace the tuning machines with grovers, but I still have the originals. Other then that it is completely stock (well I did change the saddles from the worn out nylon one to graphite). Great guitar and that is why they are still as poular today as they were back in the 60's!

I have no idea how they sound or feel, but I love the look of those Bach Fatboys!

Yeah, me too. I never tried one either.
I'll try to translate the text, not that it really matters.

SG Fatboy:
Wow wow wow, this is a real bad boy! It's impressive, both by looks and feel.
With a body that is 16mm thicker than usual, it becomes a crossbreed of a Les Paul and an SG.
Of course it's thick mahogany body gives it a bit higher weight (not too much though), but also a better balance than a regular SG.
The sound also differs, a bit more like a Les Paul, which according to information was the purpose with this model.

1960's White 3 pickup SG Custom VOS w/vibrola and w/ Invader in the bridge. 50's or 60's neck... dosen't matter.
