I play a classic rock-y style with my band and am trying to finally upgrade from my current guitar. Should I get a Epiphone SG or an Epiphone Wildkat? They both look and sound so amazing! Please help.
I thought that members were more enlightened than what I'm presently seeing. Nothing personal but, I'm going to have to stop replying if the posters don't do their own due diligence before asking these questions.
The thread question is like saying, "Should I buy a strat, or a mustang?". Really? You have to ask? I'm thoroughly surprised with some of the posts here. It really just depends on what you mean by classic rock. If you're playing as far back as the Beatles, I'd go with the Wildkat or a Casino. If you're looking at more of a 70's type of rock, then the SG or a Les Paul maybe more in your wheelhouse. If it's a bit of both, I'd personally go with the P90's. It's easier to replicate the 70's tone on a good P90 than it is to repli
I always assumed "Classic Rock" was 70s to early 80s rock
Includes the latter half of the 1960's too. There was a lot of great rock coming out in the late 1960's (Zeppelin, Hendrix, Cream, Jeff Beck, Fleetwood Mac, Ten Years After, Pink Floyd, etc).
Agreed. The mods (of which I am one) and admins don't go for people bagging on one another here.Talking to someone as if they're an idiot seems to go against your "nothing personal" statement. The OP's question sure seemed like a good one to me, and the only dumb questions are the ones that go unasked. If you can't keep yourself from feeling disdain for people with less experience or different tastes from your own, perhaps you could at least refrain from insulting them and killing the spirit of helpfulness that we like to project here on the SDUGF.
Nothing personal...
Do what you gotta do, dude. This is part of the OP's 'due diligence.' Nothing personal either, but I'm not impressed by SRV or his fan boys.

'Nothing personal' but people without any talent of their own generally aren't.
