Nice! Tell me, do you actually play on all those upper frets? Your necks are intriguing to me!

I like to have the option but yeah its not like i ever need them :bigthumb: . I just have plenty of ''normal'' guitars so i try to build something different.

I think 22-27 is a good number.

Now this one I love..

I really want to test my luck with making a body for a used neck(to cut down costs. ;) ) but I'm afraid I'll do something wrong with like the bridge placement/neck pocked placement/pickup placement/pot cavity/hole placement and stuff. ;(

For this stuff i have to make templates.

But you can buy template kits like this one i have. I haven't used them yet but i plan to and it will make it a heap easier and i can use them multiple times.

I requested a few custom options on mine as you might be able to see^^ I could do multi pickup arrangement combos and 3 types of bridges. GOTOH hardtail, gotoh fr and usa strat vintage trem. Pickguad with or without swimming pool route.

You could just use the main sections like the neck pocket, pickup and bridge then do any custom body shape you want. A charvel hydra even....

Is 50-70$ USD normal for them? It just to me seems like too much..

Also, how do you know how deep?

No that's not really much considering it could make you custom guitar bodies. You still would need routers and router bits and all sorts of stuff so if the 70 is a worry than i don't think it will be worth it.

You can score cheap bodies on ebay anyway.

Mine have all the required depths laser etched onto them.

Well, all the equipment is not a problem. But I guess 70 just seems like to much when it's just 2 sheets of wood(Or not) with some holes cut in it.

Getting a cheap body was my first idea but it really takes away the reason I want to do it. Picking the wood, making the shape, etc. You know, completely original.

Well you can just draw up the design onto wood and make them yourself. Once you start you will soon realize the 70 isn't all bad:laugh:

If you get the templates you can make copies of them which is great but yeah work with what ever budget you have.

I know it probably seems kinda time consuming and all but do you know of somewhere that has some you could print them out? Couldn't you just glue it to a piece of wood?

My father does everything wood related so I really don't know what I'm talking about..

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

Thanks guys,

I have esp to thank for the inspiration. The ghost soldier build video they released, if it wasn't for that i wouldn't have known how they do them.

Oh yeah! The ghost soldier is amazing!! But, I must say bro, your work is quite impressive!! I applaud!! Why the last photo?? Ya gotta share this man! Wow... Im really impressed! I wish I had the tooling and skills to build my own guitar, let along something of this detail...

I have to leave some things up to the imagination. Headstock for one. haha. Thanks for the support

I was going to Pm you man to check up on you. Thanks brother that means a lot coming from you.

Spent today mounting the humbucker plate and modding the screws so i can change the height of this thing like a normal ring mounted pickup.

I put the screw in my drill press and rounded off the top part of the thread. It worked a treat.

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

Nice idea with the humbucker plate. I didn't know these things existed as I have always used mounting rings.

Do you understand how the setup works? why i modded the screws etc? aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Sometimes i don't think people really understand how pro it is. haha seriously look at the ****ty fu-tone pickup mounting idea.

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

Yeah, the mounting plate is awesome! I like the look of direct mount pups, but miss the ability to adjust.

My understanding is the pickup mounts to the plate which is anchored to the wood as opposed to most direct mount humbuckers which get mounted and screwed right into the wood of the pickup cavity. From there the screws mounting the humbucker to the plate will allow you to adjust the height like a normal humbucker in a mounting ring (like you said). It's pretty awesome and genius if you ask me.
