Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

I was going to Pm you man to check up on you. Thanks brother that means a lot coming from you.

haha..no problem bro. You've really outdone yourself with this one.. I was down with some pretty nasty flu for a while but that's done with..

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

Kramersteen, do not ask why, but mail that guitar to me immediately . I'll let you know what the deal is after I get it. Do it, NOW!

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

I like the party toothpicks man. Seriously though, the back of that headstock looks badass.

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

The neck finishing is yummilicious. I'll continue to root for from Singapore. Best wishes!

the neck was the easiest part. Its just maple with fiebiengs leather dye then tru oil.

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

Kramersteen...absolutely awesome job! Looking more and more epic and awesome and everything else that is epically awesome! ;) :headbang:

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

Who was it that told me you cant cut and polish tru oil? For the record you can and its like butter to bread.
This is after only 4 coats and wiped on with a rag. ye a rag. :knockedou

Pictures don't show shine too well so i thought a little vid might help.

I only cut back that bottom half but you can see how well it works even after just a few coats.

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

Dude, I'm not sure but I think I just faced a SNES boss judging from the music on your youtube video

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

It is pretty damn cool looking.

I'm not quite feeling the Shinobi factor, but whatever.

It's very Blackie Lawless / George Lynch video instrument looking. Awesome.

I'm actually feeling "Jack Sparrow" Kinda Piratey guitar too me.

Freaking awesomely interesting any way you slice it.

Re: Shinobi final sneakpeak. More metal than metal.

The black stain covers the side dots and its impossible to clean them up so i was playing around with the idea of some sort of light decals around the dots. But i think i am going to abandon the idea and not worry about the dots.
Nice build. I have not used Tung oil as a finish on guitars.
What did you use for side dots? I use knitting needle, don't think they will stain easily, Tung is mostly linseed oil, with other oil.
Some questions that have not been asked. Asking more from a luthiers point of view than guitar player.
What scale length is it.
Is the fret board flat. Looks that way
What is the neck back shape
What do you use to cut the fret slots?
What size fret wire did you use.

Thanks pat, it has a ninja star on the back and kanji power symbol on the jack plate. What more do you want? haha. But yeah i agree with you.

Thanks man!

1. Its tru oil bro.
2. Side dots were line trimmer. I gave up on them now but the line trimmer is a great option just not with black stain. I have looked at knitting needles before.
3. 25.5
4. Fretboard is indeed flat but with rolled edges.
5. The neck is on the fat side to compliment the flat fretboard. i can get you some measurements if you want.
6. fretsaw, A friend and i did a heap of them so that's what i have been using. I didn't slot the fb at my house:wink:
7. medium/jumbo ss

Well, ****. That thing screams RAD!

Glad you like it.

I ordered the rest of the parts i will need. So now i just need complete the finish and i can start putting it together.
