Should I get locking tuners?

Re: Should I get locking tuners?

Ive used the Scott_F method for restringing, it is fast enough for me because i dont wanna spend too much money on tuners. That being said i did break 2 strings in practise today (making my record of string breaks to 4) and i was about a minute or 2 to have the first string put on, stretched and to tune... then another string broke (funnily both broke at the TOM saddles:confused: ). In those 2 string breaks the idea of locking tuners was more appealing regardless of spending more money.

There's more stress at the saddle where the string "breaks" over the edge. In other words, the nut is a slot, but the bridge saddle has a "v'"d notch and the angle going to the stop bar. Dig?

I`ve put these tuners http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Guitar/Replacement/Parts?sku=361333 on MIM Strats and US Strats and they fit without any problems. Trust me If I can install them so can you. As everyone else has said it makes re-stringing a breeze.

you know where i can get that exact one in chrome?

nevermind i fount it

does anyone know if these are direct replacments for a 2003 american strat like the ones 51501984 mentioned? on the website it says that they're used for american strats now and my american standard strat 2003 didnt have them, is this new or something?
