Show Off Your STRATOCASTER !!!

Re: Show Off Your STRATOCASTER !!!

I'm not actually a strat player, but I had a jones for this incredible master-built strat (Jason Smith). The guitar is a one of a kind ’60 Stratocaster Heavy Relic NoNeck in a sweet 3-Tone Sunburst Sparkle finish. I'm a humbucker guy, so I'm putting 2 Lil 59's and Duckbucker bridge pup in the middle of this bad girl.

According to the Music Zoo’s Tim Reynolds, this seriously stylin’ instrument melds a 1960 Strat with a Nocaster neck, and a body decked out in that crazy Sparkle Sunburst. The guitar’s finish was inspired by a unique instrument he once played––a vintage ’60 or ’61 Stratocaster that was said to have been custom built for a Beach Boys video. The guitar was apparently designed to look pretty much like a standard Strat, but with a finish that would make it really “sparkle” in the sunlight.

The ’60 Stratocaster NoNeck also sports the worn-in vibe of a heavy relic, so you’ll be happy to know the finish has been pretty much removed from the back of the neck, and the hardware is appropriately aged. However, Tim and Jason decided not to go with the traditional “arm wear/buckle wear” because they didn’t want that beautiful finish to wear off during heavy use… they were also afraid the finish would get too rough if the “sparkles” were exposed from premature aging.

Other specs include a modern 9’5″ fretboard radius, and a set of 21 Medium Jumbo frets. The ’60 Stratocaster NoNeck Relic In 3-Tone Sunburst Sparkle is selling for $5,240.00… surprisingly reasonable for a one of a kind Masterbuilt Strat.

I love my Strats, I used them all in our latest recording. It's always funny to see other people have the urge to pick up a Strat when they see it. The Olympic White 60's reissue always seems to mesmerize!

The other is a 1992 Mexico Strat with a Seymour Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge. Both are great guitars!

Re: Show Off Your STRATOCASTER !!!

These are my two strats... both japanese made Squiers from the 80's - 90's so I think they are very good quality compared to current standards for the brand.

This is a Silver Series with Gotoh hardware and Fender Texas Custom Shop pickups

This is a E-series from the 80's, with DiMarzio pickups and a high quality twin pivot tremolo... Hope you like them... Thanks!

Re: Show Off Your STRATOCASTER !!!

My 1985 ish Strat with factory Floyd Rose...made in Japan during the time the new Corona, California plant being built. Purchased from Wayne Charvel in 1995. I added the Flame Maple pickguard, the pickups, did away with the pot closest to the bridge...and went 500k on the Volume and 500k No-load on the Tone that are connected to the output of the pickup selector signal...as it is on its way to the output jack.

My most recent acquisition, a 1987 Charvel Model 1A:

Pickups are SSL-2/SSL-2/SSL-6T set up Master Vol / Master Tone / Fralin Blend

And my old beater, a 1986 Charvel Model 4 with the neck from a 1987 Model 2:

This is an older pic. I now have a Kahler heavy bar instead of the salvaged strat arm. Also the white Custom 5 has been replaced with a zebra Custom. Neck pickup is a Cool Rails, controlled with a Gibson-style 3 way switch and 500K volume.
