Show Off Your STRATOCASTER !!!

My "Gumby"

- Custom ordered 2-pc aged Alder from USAG.

- Maple/Brazilian Rosewood neck from Warmoth, 59' profile.

- Callaham hardware all around.

- Sheptone AB Custom pickups & Harness (midrange, push/push, treble bleed).

Painted and assembled myself with nitrocellulose Seafoam Green from ReRanch. Minimal matte finish on body, neck is completely raw (4 years counting, never had an issue).

Kept in a low-humidy room, always wiped down after play.

Plays and sounds exactly like you think a perfect Strat would.

We're inseparable.

My baby. After my 72 SG and 74 Paul were stolen (after owning for 21/24 years) I bought my first Strat in 2001 brand new.

Re: Show Off Your STRATOCASTER !!!

A strat made from pieces.
Chambered body. Neck from a highway 1 strat. Pickups are SD Jazz in the neck, and some Dimarzio in the bridge.
This guitar has a series / parallel / single coil for each pickup. So you can mix the two humbuckers in any combination.
Built in roland synth, which you fade mix to the regular guitar signal.
Wilkinson aluminum trem. Flatwound strings. Stained finish. Door hinge on the headstock scares away bad spirits....
This is my whackyest guitar by far....

Dang. I don't know how I hadn't posted in this thread. I used to own more Strats but down to one and it's my number one.

Chandler Body, Warmoth neck, dual Screamin' Demons in it now. A buddy and I slapped this one together in November 1993.

Re: Show Off Your STRATOCASTER !!!

A recent MIM strat, which is my first Strat build. This guitar as a gorgeous neck, and a killer sound. I'm glad I can finally use it as my main guitar :D
However,I'm still looking for a name.Which is strange, because I wanted to have an axe with single coils and a sort-of retrofuturistic design, like a Delorean or something like that.I guess I'm gonna call it Delorean.

My '94 American Standard. Stock with JB Jr in the bridge. I've had this guitar for 20 years... bought (barely) used for $400. Still kicking myself for not buying the Twin Reverb combo the store got at the same time, also for $400.

I've been pondering replacing the pick-ups with a YJM set and the tuners with locking types. Also contemplating a Super-V locking bridge.

I've had two other Strats in the past: a MIM Squire that looked the same and another mid-'90's American Std with a rosewood fret board and tobacco sunburst finish. The first I never like much and the other was bought to be a back-up for this one, but I never took to it like this one.

Oddly enough, my #1 guitar is a '84 Les Paul Studio with a factory Kahler and what I love about the '94 Strat (my #2) is how the two guitars feel so similar to me, despite being so different.

1988 American Standard Series Stratocaster... Modified with 3 Fender Noiseless N3 pickups, S1 Volume knob push button switch, with Deluxe wiring. Now I get all the quack of a vintage Stratocaster as well as parallel and series configurations! Love the sound.
