Re: Show Off Your STRATOCASTER !!!
I dont have a real strat I guess.. What I do have was a MIK ~'95 squire that I bought as a project guitar
before
after

schaller locking tuner copy's
import bridge with brass block
black neck plate, screws, jack plate and rolling string trees
H/S/H pickguard
shielded with conductive tape
changed the control layout to a volume/tone and dpdt switch for each humbucker (series/split/parallel)
kill switch
volume and tone are both push/pull.. volume has a volume bypass and the tone has a bridge always on
pickups are a IRON GEAR rolling mills and hot slag humbucker and a SD designed by single coil.. I might change that but havent decided
wired with "vintage" cloth covered wire.. the cap is a orange drop .033uF.. forgot to ground the tone pot so I need to do that when I rewire the 5 way in
Im not quite done yet as I still have a bit of work to do until its done
--a bit more sanding/filing/smoothing on the pickguard. I had to enlarge the humbucker holes because of the covers..around the bridge needs some more filling as well)
--install roller nut
--install anther 5 way as i installed one that will not work as I intended.. its a schaller mega E switch.. Ill still get another mega switch but it will be an S model.. Ill still use thew E for my dinky as it will fit my needs for that guitar better
--cut some of the pickup leads off and resolder those..
-- tweak the setup until im satisfied.. its close to the way I want but not quite there yet.. action is 2mm on the 6th string/12th fret which is very similar to my dinky.. I hate action that is too low and about 2 mm is perfect for my playing style
-- there is also a slim possibility I might add a phase switch to either the neck or bridge humbucker
