Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

I am currently building for 3 guys on the forum and their guitars are not completed yet

1) Fattys - hollow body tele - one piece mahogany back, 1/4 wild maple top - natural maple edge/raspberry finish - rosewood neck and fingerboard - no inlays - gold hardware - grover lockign tuners - cateye f-hole - piezo bridge with push/push mid-dark switch and push/push coil taps

2) Jeremy's black guitar (i think he told me he lost his forum password) but anyay - charcoal stained singlecutaway - one piece mahogany back and 4A flame maple top (charcoal grey top, natural maple edge, gloss black back and neck, chrome pickups, piezo bridge, 2 stars inlayed at the 12th fret

3) mrfjones - standard tele but with the lightest ash body around - just under 3.7lbs - awaiting finishing (gloss black) and assembly

do you have any pics of guitars you've built that you could post?

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

Single Cutaway - not for a foum member - but this guitar is for a pro musician and it gets played over 100 gigs a year

Fatty's you've all seen, but here's another pic (the bridge section looks weird but those are channels for the piezo saddles and the rest looks ununiform because i wanted to leave every drop of wood in the body I could since its semi-hollow and there is a rosewood neck (i wanted things to balance)

mrfjones's tele - he purchased a real fender neck for this one to go for that totally traditional vintage look

OOOOOH! BLUELINE, I'M GONNA TELL GIBSON!. lol, just kiddin man. Those are some awsome guitars. Do you do all your stuff by hand? I'm gonna have to hook up with you after I get out of Galloup.

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

I do everything by hand
and for the record (your Honor) they really do not look like LPs in real life - they're past the PRS singlecut design either

thanks for lookin everyone

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

All I have to say is "That is insane"......if you ask me I'll say Gibson who..........:D
Those guitars look amazing..............Hopefully soon I'll be in that same boat.... :32:

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

ooooooh, man, I love natural binding - yours looks very very clean! I'm about to attempt that kinda finish meself! got any tips? (if so, please pm me, as I hate to hijack the thread!)

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

DUDE that's some insane work! How long does it take you to make one of those babies?

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

Thanks - its takes time - especially since its not my day job by any strectch of the imagination (about 6 month turnaround time)
they're all hand built - and carved - by me - i'm the only one in the shop

Blue Calx - either tape off the binding - or if you're worried, tape off the rest of the guitar and shoot a coat of clear over the binding, then tape off the binding and you'll be able to wipe off any "mistakes"

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

Very handsome pieces of work all of them and nice to see that some guys are letting you loose!!. Six months is a long time to wait but when you want something done properly and with good workmanship then it is a small price to pay.

Do like the look of that tele (I am also going through a tele phase) and would love to see some pics when it's all put together. Thanks Blueline for the sharing as always great.

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

it is worth the wait and as always i would highly recommend doing business with Blueline. If anyone wants a personal reference for him i will gladly give one. I do not know yet what my guitar will feel like, but i know that it will be great. I have talked with blueline every step of the way, and i have a lot of pictures that he hasn't put up. I am sure that jeremy and fatty have a lot of pics too.

Blueline gives people and their guitars the kind of personal attention that a larger builder would have a hard time doing. I don't know how may of you have custom made fenders or gibsons but you can correct me if i am wrong about this, there is no way that a "masterbuilt" fender can get the attention that blueline gives a guitar, not to mention the phone calls and emails about progress and simple little questions that I had for him.

I love the looks of both of those guitars and whenever i have the money again, i will definately call Blueline to make me another guitar.

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

Blueline, where are you from, and how much do guitars from you run for?

Re: Show your Custom Gauge Guitars.......

Thanks so much guys - I relaly love the feedback and really appreciate all the nice words from those of you I've had the pleasure of working with and those of you whom I'd love to work with the the future.

I am from NJ and currently run my small shop there. I work in NYC and I learned guitar building in Boston where I went to school and where I apprenticed with Walter Stanul at the Museum of Fine Arts.

Thanks again guys - you all made my day!
