Re: Show Your Les Paul!!!!
Nice! I'll play.
73 Custom I bought earlier this year for 900 that had been kahlered but was otherwise in really nice shape. This is pretty much my favorite. 9.4 lbs.
Played it like this for a bit and decided it was definitely worth keeping:
Upon return from RS and a set of repro wafflebacks added:
I've since 'aged' the hardware a bit with just a teeny bit of Brasso, just to keep the new gold stuff from standing out so much. It worked out pretty well.
Next is an 81 LPC that I picked up a few months back blacked out and with EMGs. I contacted RD Pickups in Ireland for a custom wind I was allowed to name "The Ugly American Set.":laugh2: Scatterwound, coil mismatched, nice and bright with loads of bottom end. 10.8 lbs.
This was the first Les Paul I'd had in years, which I picked up in December of last year. I had a USA Dean From Hell (don't get me started) that I became so disillusioned with after the resale fell out from under it that I went up to GC and traded it for this 09 Traditional Pro. My tiny hands dig the 60s profile. 9.8 lbs.
And this oddball, a 74(?) Signature. I don't know what to say except I just always wanted one. The low Z pickups are kinda weird, tonally, but I'm keeping it stock and it's very capable of some serious rock tones. I dig that it, my 73, and my 81 all have the same neck profile. It's pretty easy to switch back and forth.
Bad playing aside, this thing rocks pretty hard.
