Ok, so I went back about 101 pages and found this thread, and was blown away by all the sweet @$$ Les Pauls, man I haven't seen this much beauty in one place since the Miss Universe paget 1982. I thought it was worth bring it back to the head of the class!

Re: Show Your Les Paul!!!!

Nice! I'll play.

73 Custom I bought earlier this year for 900 that had been kahlered but was otherwise in really nice shape. This is pretty much my favorite. 9.4 lbs.

Played it like this for a bit and decided it was definitely worth keeping:

Upon return from RS and a set of repro wafflebacks added:

I've since 'aged' the hardware a bit with just a teeny bit of Brasso, just to keep the new gold stuff from standing out so much. It worked out pretty well.

Next is an 81 LPC that I picked up a few months back blacked out and with EMGs. I contacted RD Pickups in Ireland for a custom wind I was allowed to name "The Ugly American Set.":laugh2: Scatterwound, coil mismatched, nice and bright with loads of bottom end. 10.8 lbs.

This was the first Les Paul I'd had in years, which I picked up in December of last year. I had a USA Dean From Hell (don't get me started) that I became so disillusioned with after the resale fell out from under it that I went up to GC and traded it for this 09 Traditional Pro. My tiny hands dig the 60s profile. 9.8 lbs.

And this oddball, a 74(?) Signature. I don't know what to say except I just always wanted one. The low Z pickups are kinda weird, tonally, but I'm keeping it stock and it's very capable of some serious rock tones. I dig that it, my 73, and my 81 all have the same neck profile. It's pretty easy to switch back and forth.

Bad playing aside, this thing rocks pretty hard.

Re: Show Your Les Paul!!!!

The second LP I have had over the years. Traded good instruments in for it, and I'm really happy with it.

She has just the right amount of figure on the top for my taste, and just the right tonal response. Loving the heavy lower mids!

Holy ****, man. You got that for 9 bills?!:eyecrazy:
I'm still jealous that you snagged that 81 LPC with the shaved neck too.

Sometimes when I post pictures linked to Seymour Duncan's smugmug, they suddenly disappear.

Yep! It owns the 81, too, not that the 81's bad. The neck's not really shaved, either. It's just stripped....
