"Slash from Kiss owned one" LMAO

Re: "Slash from Kiss owned one" LMAO

I think Herman Li from the Rolling Stones used one back in the '40s, too.
I should probably mention that to the seller

Back when John 5 was a founding member (and namesake) of the Jackson 5, he used one of those amps exclusively as well.

Re: "Slash from Kiss owned one" LMAO

I have one of these. I use it in my Jefferson Floyd cover band. We do a killer version of War Pigs.

Re: "Slash from Kiss owned one" LMAO

It's my dream amp, a 60s Marshall Plexi but more quit.

You guys obviously haven't heard Appetite For Destroyer.

Re: "Slash from Kiss owned one" LMAO

wow, quits more than a 60s marshall - there's a great selling point.

Re: "Slash from Kiss owned one" LMAO

Caps lock is the equivalent of yelling. IMO

Re: "Slash from Kiss owned one" LMAO

Funny ad, but the amp looked interesting.
A quick google came up with this:
http://www.rissonamplifiers.com/
Risson Amplifiers are designed and built by master engineer, Bob Rissi.
After leaving Fender in 1967, Bob became Director of Engineering at Rickenbacker, where he designed the famous TranSonic series used by Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, Steppenwolf, Cheap Trick, Strawberry Alarm Clock and many others. Bob left Rickenbacker to start Risson in 1970, where he built a variety of models that were purchased by renowned musicians like Slash, Lita Ford, Poison, Motley Crue, Al Perkins, Glen Campbell, Rick Vito, Joe Walsh, Rick Nelson and countless others.

I got to try that line on my nephews. its pretty good.

"Hey did you know Slash from Kiss used to play one of these?"

Remember some talk about Risson's on the Vintage Amps board. Long time ago though.

I love the solo Slash did on that Kiss song 'Crazy Train'

Kiss's Zoso record was a landmark in disco recordings.

Re: "Slash from Kiss owned one" LMAO

My first tube amp head was a Risson ETA 80. I bought it at a Torrance Ca. pawn shop for $260 when I was 15. It was kind of like a JCM 800 with 2 6550's and more gain.

Kevlar3000 owns an old Risson too.

Re: "Slash from Kiss owned one" LMAO

Cesar Romero used to mod those. I'm pretty sure that's the kind Warren DeMArtini use to play with the Rat Pack when Dean Martini was singing...
