Is there one? I mean with all the companies that do the M thing better than M did in the last thirty years wouldn't be there somebody who would make the first high-gain head as we know it?
Hmm I've decided I am just gonna stay away from the pre 80-82 Marshalls, I am seriously considering Edana in the near future as I bet the build quality is way better than JTM45 re-issue. I was wondering if there is a Splawn of Soldanos of sorts ...
Ummmm....

Seems like the poor mans Soldano.
Wow Luke, you've totally on other side of what say, Hot_Grits had to say about the amp, now I am confused, thanks guys. Luke so you basically saying that SLO is JCM800 2203 circuit with and extra ECC83 as an extra gain stage with power amp rewired for 6L6? What about the depth knob? Jeff Seal is that the guy from thespeakersurgeon.com?
Nope, I dont hear any Soldano in 5150. The reason i am starting this thread is to find out if there less then $3700 way to get that Wicked Sensation rich, dry, really grainy high gain. I love the Laney tone and I am gonna get a few more but I want that typa gain as well ...
Wow Dudes. THank you. Luke, do you have the sound clip of that mod Jeff did on your DSL? VIN, dude, putting a DIY OD pedal is rocket science for me, I've never soldiered anything in my life, doing that thing woulb borderlin stupid for me ... unfortunately.
Instead of some guy butchering up a perfectly fine amplifier and the risk that won't like it one bit, you'd better leave that amp stock for those who appreciate it the way it is. That way, you won't get stuck with an amp with an amp with a resale value that's a mere fraction of what you paid for it.
Slow clone...new amp name...for reeeeaaaallll saaaaaggggyyyy waaaaaaaaaarrrmmm toooooooonnnnes..
MWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHA
Look at a schematic....Nope, I dont hear any Soldano in 5150.
That's what I've always heard, but I don't personally hear it myself.Ummmm....
