SM57 vs E609

I voted e609 cuz thats what I'm using right now. Great for amps but not really impressed with it for recording acoustic. I'm thinking about trying the SM57 for acoustic recordings.

I'm using an e609 too. I don't think it sounds any better than a 57, it's actually more brittle, but it's a no brainer to hang in front of a speaker for live stuff.

57's are always handy to have around. I've never been a fan of the Sennheisers. The best dynamic mic I've found is the Heil PR-30 large diaphragm dynamic. For most cabinet micing jobs, you will never use a 57 again. That said, I'll be hanging on to my Beta 57 just in case!

They sound fantastic & the price looks reasonable. Actually seems kind of cheap for the great quality. Thanks bro I might just pick one up!

We use both, but with my rig I have had greater success with the e609. My buddy's rig seems to work better with the SM57. Together they balance out very well.

I like '57s if they're placed juuuust right. E609's are easier to place and are more trebly but I don't NOT like them.
