Taken from Facebook. The risks of outdoor gigs in Finland....

Interesting that the power supply is warm enough to melt the snow.

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

What is the point of this outdoor gig, as there is like 15 people there?

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

Technical difficulties :D

Feel a bit sorry for the guy, but really seems obvious to have some shelter for your pedals if you going to have an outdoor gig in the middle of winter...

Where's the pic from?

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

I saw a winter concert in Montreal recently where they had bands inside little plywood huts with only the speakers outside exposed to the cold. Seems like the way to go.

Even if you cover the pedals and manage to not short any electronics, it's pretty hard to play guitar with cold hands.

Yup. I remember playing in the cold with fingerless gloves and trying to warm up my hands between songs. Not doing it again.

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

I’m not a fan of outdoor gigs regardless of the weather. There’s just something about playing outside that doesn’t feel right. The instrument in my hands, that is.

I got it from the Wampler Pedals Tone Group on Facebook. I’m not sure the location in Finland.

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

Yeah, I guess. But I am surprised that there would be *any* outdoor gigs there. Maybe for the 2 weeks of summer they have, but that's it.

Sure we have. From May to September mostly though...

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

I always hated playing outdoors. Hot in the Summer, stiff fingers in Spring or Fall. Never played outdoors in Winter.
But I guess the Finns are used to it.

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

Wow, that’s going to be an expensive gig for that band!

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

I would think grabbing a $5 plastic tarp for the pedals and amp from the local home improvement store would have saved hundreds in damaged equipment. I can't feel bad for this guy.

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

Can we confirm that this is actually snow, and that the band doesn't just have a serious dandruff problem?

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

I'd just like to point out how there are not a single member of the audience is actually watching the band.

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

He probably didn’t take a picture while his band was playing, it was probably a set break or end of the night, right?

Re: Snow covered pedalboard.... (Finland)

I figured in that weather if it were the end of the night they would have left already, and usually during a break at least a few people are looking in the direction of the stage, talking to band members or what not.
