So how 'bout that Full Shred Neck?

Not a very popular choice by the looks of the polls, but I am a little interested judging by the Destination CD. Does anyone here have one? How is it? Clean/dirty, compared to the 59 and Jazz, etc.

the full shred neck is supposed to compensate for the darkness in the neck, so I hear. I was also told it's nice and bright, with lots of crunchiness and clarity. I'm not sure about the cleans though... my guess is a little fatter but similar to a single coil?

the Full Shred need not be popular to impress me. if you solo in the neck under high gain, there are 2 Duncans you should consider- Full Shred/ Distortion. i like both.

why these? they maintain clarity for single note definition, even when you play at the upper neck register. however, these units thrive under lots of drive, if you are after humbuckers that perform equally well clean, there are others to choose from. :)

I don't know about the neck model, but my FSb does an incredible job of staying 'clean' sounding, even with heavy distortion. Great pup for metal, even for rock...backing off the distortion gives a nice, tight sound that I like for rhythmic clarity. Some people knock it's cleans, but if you have an amp with enough headroom, the cleans from the FS are bright, tight and articulate.

The Full Shred

"Tight! Tight like Tiger!"

kinda deviating but i have the CC in my SZ320 bridge, the bass response is fairly good, this humbucker has a midrange emphasis but it's able to produce a typical low-end metal chug any time- just watch your amp's EQ...
