My birthday is coming up on the 30th. My girlfriend was going to get *us* (she'd play it) a Hofner violin bass but this popped up locally for a very low price. It's a used Gibson ES-333. Gibson doesn't make this model anymore, used is the way to go. So far I'm having some trouble adjusting the truss rod, the neck has a lot of relief. At first I was a little worried but I realized I probably just don't have the right tool. I have a screwdriver type handle with a socket tip, both 8mm and 5/16 seem to work, problem is the sockets I have don't go all the way to the base of the acorn nut so it's hard to turn after a certain point.
Besides that (which I'm sure is going to correct itself today when I buy the right tool) everything is stock, NO repairs, no funny business. Gibson pots, pickups, no screws missing. The headstock has some sort of glue that once held this little emblem, I'm working on removing the glue... A very "alive" very loud guitar unplugged, I've yet to plug it into an amp!
Excuse the photos, I don't have a better camera with me at the moment.
