The USB connection on it broke. I tried reparing it with superglue (LOL), but I think I made it worse. I can't find a shop in town that wants to take it in for repair.
I can still play it. It still makes sound. But I cannot access the desktop editor, I cannot record via USB, and I cannot play along to songs that I like with it using headphones. These were like 75% of the things that I used it for.
So I wonder what my other options are in a similar form factor that are more up-to-date than this was. I kinda really want a Kemper Player, but it seems kinda expensive for what it is consiering the software is at least a decade old now. I think the Tone X might be it, but I'm not sure how I feel that it's not actual modeling, just profiling, and I don't know of many players/producers/engineers that I look up that offer profiles for it. Like, for the Kemper, I'm sure I'd like the Josh Middeton profiles. I'm not sure what captures would be as good on the Tone X?
Not sure if I wanna go Ampero or Headrush. The tech seems kind of last gen. Not that they don't sound good, but I don't want to buy something to find out something new is replacing it in a few months or even a year. The Boss GT-Core, I haven't heard any clip of it that I've been impressed by. I don't think Boss modeling is as advanced, is it? Is it component modeling like Helix or Fratctal? Fractal is kind of spendy too.
So... what do you think I should look at in a similar form factor?
Thanks.
