Here's the only photo I found of a reissue Supro gut shot. Looks simple, durable, and manufactured about the same as a Fender or Peavey. If it weren't done like this, the amp would be $2500.

It's very similar to how Bruce was building his own Zinky line of amps. here is a gut shot of a Blue velvet>

Not likely as Bruce after he bought the rights was playing around with some of the inventive early Supro power amp designs with his preamp mojo and was dedicated to resurrecting the brand as a really high end amp. After he sold the brand he stopped building his Zinky amps and became Supro's chief designer so for the foreseeable future these will be high end tone monsters at boutique prices ( per the last conversation I had with Bruce).

The question is if new Supro will capture the fancy of the modern buyer enough to keep prices high. Carlsbro tried a high end re-entry a few years back, and it fell on it's face, just not enough folks to buy them. This has a better shot for sure. Looking at the build pics, there is nothing high end about it.

There's an awful lot of silicone spuz all over that chassis. It makes you wonder why they need that all over the place?

I think there's enough room in the world of amps to include old handwired PTP circuits and ones that are manufactured the way it's feasible in modern times, so long as it sounds good. Another thing is noise level.
Sometimes, the new PCB amps that are laid out simple and heavy duty have less hiss because of the lack of spaghetti wiring.

I'm sitting in my studio looking at amps from the late 60's to 2014, and I don't find myself being concerned with how they were made. I plug into them, and enjoy them for what they are, and the tube tone that pours out of them. The tone is never dependent on PTP or PCB, but the circuit, tubes, and speakers.

I really want one of these new Supros. At some point, a used one will surface on Craigslist, and I'll grab it.

We live in the golden era of gear choices. Never forget that.

The issue for this build is trying to sell it as high end, but then posting a keep costs down promo shot of the chassis. There are many great pcb builds, but the board mounted tube sockets and pots are a huge issue when they go bad.

I do not think these guys will have a problem selling amps. Would be worth slogging through all the weirdos in black, and sexually confused, wannabe rock stars at NAMM again.....just to talk to the guys at The Supro Booth.
