So, what's your most horrible guitar finish?

There's lots of threads going on about how beautiful the latest Les Paul in Flametop-amber-antique-glossy-iced-tea looks. But come on, let's see the colours and finishes that you can't stand. If it made you look at a guitar and go :omg: , then stick it up here!

For starters, this guitar is like a LP which a child has scribbled over with black marker pen...

My guitar above... it just looks like a lovely sunburst LP with big black splodges on the controls, pickguard and plastics. These bits seem to grab the attention more than the yellow/red bits.

What if it were made of BBQ spare ribs? Would you eat it then? I know I would. And I'd wash it down with a tall cool budweiser.

As many gems as I think can be found in Warmoth's Showcase, there are some vomit inducing finishes, IMO. I don't know where they come up with some of their burst ideas... Yellow to green? Yikes.

if they were that colour? I prefer my ribs blackened. I'd wash mine down with the 3 bottles of Dickel I swiped from Jolly's liquor cabinet again.

Ah crud, I just confirmed Odie's beliefs that I'm a sign-stealing, binge-drinking teenager.

I can't find a downloadable pic, but it has to be that awful Gecko finish Les Paul Standard they had for awhile.

They should have just called it "Banana and split pea baby sh....."

I agree on the gecko finish as well. That creme latte or whatever Gibson calls it is rather putrid as well.

As in quality or just looks? Oh hell, it goes double for the "thin nitro" silly puddy they put on the yellow faded les pauls.

Bah, too many to keep track, I have become so desensitized that when I see one I just look away and forget it after a second or so...

BTW, that LP the OP posted looked ok to me, nothing to write home about but I've seen far worse too, the Gecko LP being right at the top of the list.
