Re: So you think you're good at tapping?

Adam Fulara is better, but his site is down. I'll post some links when it's back up...

Re: So you think you're good at tapping?

I haven't heard of Fulara, is he in a band i could check out?

Re: So you think you're good at tapping?

He is in a band, but I don't remember the name of it.

Having said that, his tapping and his band are separate projects as far as I know.

Re: So you think you're good at tapping?

If you want a few sample videos, I can email them. They're about 5-10 MB...

real media .. leh.. cant open, wont open, dont want to open.. i HATE real media more than the pest

Re: So you think you're good at tapping?

That's quite cool, although I'm much more impressed by bass tapping and bass slapping. As far as the pure physicality goes, it's about five times as hard and it's QUITE amazing to see.

Holy crap, that was scary-good! Strange how guys like these just sit around making videos while dudes that can only play 3-chord songs on guitar are making huge $$$. :saeek:

I noticed that, too. Whenever you see these "Rusty Cooley" style guys who are amazing virtuosos.... doing sweep picking, tapping and slapping techniques the rest of us can only dream about.... they're always sitting alone in their bedroom. They're just sitting alone in a room shooting a video.

I've never once seen guys do stuff like this at shows. This indicates something. A lot of these amazing techniques simply aren't practical. They have no place in the kind of rocking music people want to listen to. Guys who spend too much time on technique and no time jamming with other guys in a band setting wind up as "woodshed warriors".

I would rather be a mediocre guitar player who enjoys what I do, gets paid and recieves adulation from fans than a guy who is only noticed by other musicians over the internet.

Re: So you think you're good at tapping?

I know what vid that is, because I love Chris Broderick. :D I assume its alla turca. I cant tap that, or like Fulura, haha. But, listen to Opus#36 no. 10 by J. Dont, thats some good tapping using 4 fingers, that I can tap, its a cool tune.

Re: So you think you're good at tapping?

I can play that on the piano! It's Rondo Alla Turca, from Mozart's Sonata in A, Third Movement.

Most likely the reason these guys aren't in bands is because they don't want to work with other people, or they don't work well with them.
