I love how most of the people on here didn't even read the first post, obviously missing the point.
I've never gotten anything even remotely decent tone-wise from a Line 6 amp. I've tried mostly the Spiders though which are sort of their barrel-bottom, right?
No experience with their high-end stuff like the HD147 or the Vetta.

Awful amps, at least in my opinion. Total junk. I once owned a Spider something, don't know which exactly, but it was a horrible amplifier. I found it impossible to get anything remotely good tone wise.
However, lol I love the old discussion of Solid State vs ValveSince the dawn of time, people have argued Valve or Tranny. I actually have a Yamaha DG80 which is a solid state amp that was produced in the late 90's and I've had some awesome sounds out of that. I would prefer a valve amp over a solid state, but to say that all solid state's are poor is something that people do all too often.
Not to mention, SS amp technology makes advances (improvements) every year.

Modeling amps are SS, or hybrid. Not really... modeling amps are where all the development is at. Outside of the use of mosfets 20 or more years again there is nothing new under the sun with solid state amps either.

1 is digital 1 is analog... there is a vast difference between what a modeler does and what a solid state amp does. Maybe they both use transistors for power but thats it. Solid state is not modeling.
I dare you to find me a single non digital modeler...
It's still solid state. The discussion wasn't digital vs analog....you're the one who interjected that distinction.
I think the AMT Legend Series II preamps are non-digital modelers. One clean model, one dirty model in one pedal using JFET's. No processors onboard
