Some crappy pics of my humble little rig

Re: Some crappy pics of my humble little rig

I think you need to wipe the pocket scum off the lens of your cell phone camera. It's got that "soft barbara walters" look to it. Hides the wrinkles and turkey butt lips however.

I thought it would take a few years off of some of the older pedals. High def does nothing for old stuff.

Re: Some crappy pics of my humble little rig

I run kind of schizo.

Most days i just want to plug in and play. I want AC/DC - Marshall mod, 4/9/7 b/m/t, gain to 6-7, touch of verb, and run the volume up. Or maybe ten minutes later, I want Def Lep Hysteria. 5150 mod, 4/2/7, gain on 7, medium delay and chorus right to edge before flange. BAM!

But then other days, I'll break out the P-90 studio, and futz with the knobs on the Stamps and the amp volume to get it juuuuuuust right so you can't tell where the amp stops and the dirt box begins....and dial in juuuuuuust the right little touch of trem.

And then 20 mins later I'l slap a drum beat on, grab the Caddy with the Custom bridge, Hit the recto mod, a short delay, and just riff away!!!

Maybe I'll get a half stack one day...I'd need to be in band. I do dig old skool Valvestates! That would be my head of choice.

30 watts is plenty loud for me (or 15 class A!)

Re: Some crappy pics of my humble little rig

... I'm kind of disappointed, actually, at first glance I thought the amp on the stand was some sort of mesa 1x12 and the roland was one of those lil vox's. And like everyone else I expected at least one marshall.

Even if you're not in a band, what about a class 5 or somethin? Didn't you used to have that freehely quote about les pauls and marshalls in your sig?

I didn't want to say anything, but, yeah...

Hey - that quote be the truth Marshall or no!

The "Show me your amp" thread in combo with a couple of "here is my rig" threads inspired me. That and I had all my stuff out with a rag cleaning.

You don't think I can't cop a righteous Ace frehley tone? Think again! Just need to know how to set the knobs....

That Cube has both a Vox and a Marshall model, by the way.

As for the class 5, I'll stick with my little Fender Box-O-Tone thank you.

I realize you guys probably think I have a massive boa in my pants too. It's actually pretty much just above average.

+1 on all accounts.

I'm kinda disappointed too.

Honestly, as a forum Heavy weight, I kinda figured you would have more?

At least a Marshall too, I mean, I have one, and I spent 14 years of my life hating the brand.

I hear what you're saying but it's good to see someone who doesn't ***** about everything and just ****ing rocks. Ace is easily one of the coolest peeps on the forum. :friday:

Re: Some crappy pics of my humble little rig

Well Ace... the forum has spoken... you must immediately proceed to the nearest guitar shop and secure at least a Marshall half-stack. You don't have to plug it in, but it's gotta be somewhere in the pics!

LOL... :D

Re: Some crappy pics of my humble little rig

I was looking at a Marshall cab and a Head just today....Just thought I'd let you know.

Man - in the mid eighties through the early nineties I had like two amps and a ton of pedals, and they changed fairly regularly. But just one guitar!!!!!

Then in the later 90's I got a floorboard, and started getting rid of a bunch of stuff - but I had like 20 guitars!

Now I'm just kind of settled in. A few choice boxes. Will probably add a few more. My flexible amp and my tone amp, and a half dozen guitars.

But I may try to yeild to popular demand. Of course...I could always spend the money on a ticket to User's Group Day...

" I was looking at a Marshall half stack the other day and thought, man, those guys on the forum will really respect me now!"

I think some of these responses are hilarious. Hell I build tube amps and right now, my strat is firmly plugged into the Fender Mustang 3. Heck, I don't even own one of my own amps any more. (Not by choice, rat bahsteds keep buying the ones I make for myself) I do have one on the bench tweaking right now however.

Impressions from an Ace Freely avatar have people thinking you must have a Marshall stack. I think I need a Peter North avatar.

ROFL!

It's true though... we do judge people by their avatars. For instance, I used to think that Gearjoneser was a HAWT, mostly-naked chick until he updated his avatar and now I know that he's a famous teenage boy with nice hair and a black eye. :D

I thought that was Jessie's Ghost....

Re: Some crappy pics of my humble little rig

Humility is a good thing.

The main reason I use a POD is the ability to switch tones significantly with the press of a switch. We play songs that I use 4 different patches to perform.

Re: Some crappy pics of my humble little rig

Pathetic. Ace, come on, I suck and I still have a 50w Marshall head. I'm serious, come on?
