Some help with EZdrummer and Reaper...

Re: Some help with EZdrummer and Reaper...

Thanks so much for making that video, AZ. How did you make it using only a screenshot like that?

I'm going to get the video up on my recording computer tomorrow and compare our settings.

One thing though, you said you don't use MIDI, but isn't everything through EZdrummer a MIDI file? That's what it looks like on your drum track as well.

I'm not sure about EZdrummer using MIDI. I don't have any EZdrummer literature and I've never taken the time to learn about the program in depth since it's so easy to use I picked it up on my own.

What I meant is, that I don't have MIDI input configured, I never feed MIDI into my DAW from an external source. it's possible the VST uses MIDI, but I'm not sure.

thats the program you need, select full screen and record from microphone, then select your mic of choice.

Re: Some help with EZdrummer and Reaper...

Astro, if you look at your drum tracks in Reaper, they end with the extension ".mid" which I'm pretty sure is MIDI. I had a look at the MIDI settings in my Reaper and there were options about what to do with .mid files.

I had a look at the other settings as well, and we have basically the same default settings. You might be right about the problem being with the more recent version of the software that I'm using.

I still haven't gotten it to work...I think the next step is emailing either Cockos or Toontrack.

Re: Some help with EZdrummer and Reaper...

I just read that people have been having problems running 64 bit Reaper with 32 bit EZdrummer...this might be my issue. Details to follow.

I cant drag the grooves into reaper 64bit
I have to use 32 bit.
I can use 64 bit after the drums are in, and I can copy and paste the grooves once they are there, but just cant drag and drop them.

I click "insert virtual instrument in new track" select toontrack, then it asks if I want to import it into 16 tracks and I say no. EZDrummer opens and after it loads I am good to go. But it has to be the 32 bit version, even though I am running it on the same 64bit PC.

Re: Some help with EZdrummer and Reaper...

^ Yup, just got it. Thanks so much, Reload and AZ.

There's also a weird loophole, where if I run Reaper (64 bit) as an administrator, it will let me drag the EZdrummer (32 bit) grooves into the project.

Apparently there's a 64 bit update for EZdrummer, 1.2.1, but I don't have that so I'll stick with this roundabout method (or get Reaper in 32 bit).

Thanks a bunch, guys.

Re: Some help with EZdrummer and Reaper...

I have used ezdrummer with reaper 32 bit for years, really simple to install and use:

the dude that explains says the same thing about reaper 64, looks like there is a patch as you said

I have superior 2.0 and I see if I google "superior 2.0 reaper" there are links, if someone has an easy tutorial that knows how to do this I would be much obliged...
