Someone tell me about the Peavey Classic 100

a guy on my local craigslist has a peavey classic 100 full stack and want to trade me for my strat. he says its an tweed early 90s model with 3 preamp tubes and 8 output tubes. I love the new classic 50s. Does this amp come close to the classic 50 tone?

it probably would sound similar...the 50 has 4 El84 tubes and the 100 has 8 EL84 tubes (that would run pretty hot!)...but it also has tremelo if iirc?

The Classics are all fan cooled, so heat won't be an issue. I'd say it'll come close to the C50, but with more headroom on the volumes. One of the best parts of the design is that the tubes are held in by a cage, which cuts microphonics down a bunch.

Seriously 8 el84's ... Sounds like a Dream for me! Everyone (VOX included) seems to go to el34's once they want to get above 30-40 watts.
