Something different?

I'm thinking about selling one of my Vibrochamps (not sure which one yet), cause really I don't see any reason to have two of them. I like both of them alot, but after getting the second one, I'd really rather have something that sounds different, instead two of the same exact thing.

I'm looking for suggestions of something that will sound different from a fender amp. I've almost always played fender amps, I've never owned a Marshall or any of the other good "crunch" amps. So I've decided I'd like to check out something else for a change. I can't really see much point in owning 5 amps, and having 3 of them sound really really similar. Ya know?

Right now I've got ...

2 vibrochamps (one has a 10" speaker though)
A Fender Concert II
A Valve Jr.
and an Ampeg SS amp from the 70's (which Sounds amazing surprisingly)

So lets here some suggestions for something different! haha. Gotta be less than $350 or soo (I'm planning on using the money I make selling one of the vibrochamps to fund it), Used would be best. I'm not so concerned with cleans, but more something that will do a good Crunch (good cleans would just be a plus). I'd actually really like something along the lines of a Marshall, but obviously $350 isn't gonna get me a Marshall, I don't think. I'm not really concerned about wattage. I'd like to stick with 12" or 10" speakers though. And prefer somethings thats not single ended. So suggest me something!!!

thanks

I totally expected lots of guys would have some suggestions for Good Crunchy amps for me! haha. Seems like everyones all about th dirt around here, I know you guys have got good taste! And I know you guys know how to find good deals. Com'on throw me some more suggestions. Doesn't even nessicarrily have to be all tube, I'm not against modeling amps (just roland cubes, and line6 spiders). Help me!!! haha.

Re: Something different?

roland cubes are great amps...but ignoring that fact...I'd say check out one of the Crate Vintage Club series amps used...great amps.

Ya mean the older Vintage Club series, or the Current VC series? Either way, any idea which models are the better sounding ones from each series? I used to have one of the older Vintage Club 5212 amps back in 2000-2001 or so, and I remember I totally hated it. But That was also a really long time ago, so I dunno if those are just not the best sounding ones in the series, or If those older ones just sucked, or if I just had really bad taste back then, haha.

Re: Something different?

Have you tried using those amps in stereo?
Not what you're asking I know...but stereo can blow your mind...

Re: Something different?

actually, I still own one of those VC5212's and that's a great amp man! Seriously...gotta upgrade the tubes, but it really does sound great. I actually play organ through it now though :)

Yeah actually I got the second one specifically so I could use em in stereo. And it deffinately is amazing in stereo. I even went so far as to built a special switcher pedal so I could turn the vibroto on both of them on/off at the same time. Only problem is, I hardly ever play with effects, so most of the time stereo is wasted. Really the only stereo effect I even have is a chorus pedal, and while it does sound beautiful in stereo, I just don't generally play with effects, haha.

I'm also not even sure I'm gonna get rid of either of them. Just kinda checking into what else is out there. If I end up getting suggested something that I end up digging, I might ditch one of the VC's for it. Then again I might not, I dunno.
