I do a lot of tunes in open tunings. Open D, G and DADGAD mostly - just the standard tunings. And I use a capo -sometimes set very high up on the neck to get a faux mandolin kind of tone. lol!

Those three cuts in Soundclick are done with a pick. But I do have quite a few tunes that are fingerpicked. They weren't mixed yet so I didn't post them. Thanks! Lew

Re: Something new!

Beautiful song Lew and you did a wonderful job recording it as well. I hope to write something that nice for my daughter someday.

Re: Something new!

That's super. It has a nice Celtic feel to it. Ringy and smooth.

Reminds me of Al Petteway and a guy I used to play in a Celtic group with. You get the same kind of bell tones.

Ever try this one without a pick? :scratchch

Re: Something new!

Great as usual Lew.
Keep em' coming !

Lew, If you sound that good playing a Taylor.... just imagine how much better you'd sound with a Martin ! :naughty:

Without a pick? If you're thinking of the tune Ancient Ancestors, no. Never tried it without a pick. I'm not that good a fingerpicker! LOL! I can fingerpick a little but I'm more of a Travis picker. I'll load one on Soundclick...
