speaker question

I have an jcm 800 combo. The speaker is 16 ohms. Can I buy a 8 ohm replacement and be ok? I was thinking an Eminence V12, it is like a celestian vintage 30.

You'll be fine, but you'd need to change the impedence switch to 8 ohms.

Yep...if the amp has only one speaker.

But if it's a two speaker combo amp you'll want both speakers to be the same impedence. Two 16 ohm speakers in parallel = 8 ohms and would connect to the 8 ohm tap.

What about the Eminence V12? Does anyone like it? It is rated at 120 watts that scares me since it copies a speaker rated as 60 watts
