Spot the Gibson

Which guitar is the Gibson and which is the Epiphone

Hahaha. I saw this one on FB last night. The pickup spacing, fingerboard extension after the 22nd fret and finish tint are the obvious differences. I'm gonna say, the one on the right is the Gibson.

Gibson is on the left... I can tell because of pickup placement difference.

EDIT: I'll add -that right guitar isn't going to do Angus Young like they planned

But really, why bother with the pickup spacing difference? It would be just as easy to put them in the same place.

Left might be a Gibson, right isn't for sure. Pickup spacing.

And I'm not sure, but the pickguard plies look spaced differently...maybe?

The one on the left is the Gibson. Pickup spacing, the body on the guitar on the right looks slightly larger if you look closely, but oddly the pickguard is actually cut better in the cut out area under the right horn on the guitar on the right. Everything lines up. On the left, the pickguard does not line up as well. But that is the Gibson.

I'm going with the one on the right being the non-Gibson. Les appealing finish, deeper bevels in the "horns", odd softness in the routing at the corners of the pickup cavities, softer body edges (especially where the forearm bevel meets the bottom edge), etc.

I'd probably be happy with either one if I wasn't scrutinizing them like this, but if the one on the right is the Gibson, then that's one more reason (for me) not to ever buy another one.

Yes, Definitely the left is the Gibby.... Think Angus Young bridge tone -and then look at the pickup positions.

Right guitar is set for more round and mellow bridge tone.

The left's bridge pickup placement is ... interesting. I'd have to check my SG Jr. to see how much is "realistic".

I am going with left, I don't know for sure myself. The guitar on the right I do not like the pickup placement or the route on the upper left-hand side of the neck pickup.

I did some digging after I posted. The one on the right is actually the Epiphone. So, I was wrong. I prefer the pickup placement on the Gibson. The paint on the left is the Faded Pelham Blue.
