"It says Squier but there is nothing Squier about it, this guitar has ALL FENDER PARTS. Squier was not an actual company in 97', fender started by putting the name on their Mexi strats just to try it out. Ive had it cleaned electronically, and Ive babied it, if you have owned an actual Fender strat before you will see that this is the real deal. There are no issues with it AT ALL! I have 2 tele's now so I dont need this one, I dont have the room for it anymore. If you have questions just let me know. "

Re: Squier didn't exist in 1997.

You resurrected a six year old zombie thread to tell us this? :scratchch

Haha! I was like, the CL posting was deleted pretty quickly...but just now looked at the dates...I was still in college at the time of this thread! lol

Re: Squier didn't exist in 1997.

well since it is a zombie
lets feed the zombie

I had a '92 Korean Squire

I have a copy of the Guitar Players Handbook
that claims a very long history for Squire

Re: Squier didn't exist in 1997.

Not only that, he joined just to resurrect a dead thread.
Not only that, he quoted 2 different posts to say exactly the same thing.

Re: Squier didn't exist in 1997.

My friend Dave didn't have one these back in 1987 because it didn't exist until after 1997.

Re: Squier didn't exist in 1997.

Just FYI, Squier was the name of the string manufacturer that also made Fender strings back in the 50's-early 60's, until Fender bought them out, and they became Fender's own string making operation. They later started using the name for a secondary line of guitars, since the original company didn't exist any more and Fender owned the name. I remember seeing ads in the guitar mags way back that showed Hendrix using "Squier" strings (when he actually used the Fender-labeled strings, made by Squier).
