Looking at buying a Squier Jag, defs dont have that much cash lying around but totally GASing for one and have missed having a Jag for years.... I have Curtis Novak jag pickups in the cupboard after owning a CIJ Jag and they are regarded as some of the best Jag pickups. I will probably get a Warmoth adjustable Jag bridge and string it with 11s so playability is much better. The main question is ... Surf Green or Olympic White. I have a thing for the tort pickguards so i think the olympic white looks better to me in photos but I love sruf green (mainly on strats) so really don't know which to go for.

Re: Squier Jaguar

I like surf green with white pickguard, but if you're gonna go with a tortoise pickguard then go with the white !

Re: Squier Jaguar

There's a 170 page thread going at the offset forum about the new Squier Jaguar, Jazzmaster and Mustang. I was reading bits of it just yesterday. A complain I read many times was about the quality of the tortoise 'guards they have. Seems like they look pretty bad on some the production models. Many ppl was putting aftermarket tort 'guards on them. The ones I've seen seem fine, though.

The surf green and candy apple red Jaguars look awesome. I've been trying to stay away from them (don't need another guitar LOL) but for the price I might get one.

Re: Squier Jaguar

Yeh Ive read some of that thread lots of good things seem to be said they also get distracted by talking and comparing to the J Mascis Jazzmaster. Still not sure about the colour really love the white one but I have two white ish guitars (les paul custom copy and kinda creamy coloured tele) so maybe a Surf Green one would be nice and different.

Re: Squier Jaguar

I had a white '66 with a tort guard, beautiful guitar, that's my vote anyway

Re: Squier Jaguar

Ordered the Surf Green one from Thomann. Though that having two whiteish guitars was enough and Surf Green is cool, look forward to getting it and doing a full review both stock and after some mods (pickups, bridge).

Awesome man! The surf green Jag looks great.

Re: Squier Jaguar

Thomann? Aren't they based in Germany? How much are you paying for shipping?

50EUR flat rate under 30kg (bought gig bag, some cables and headphones as well) vs the roughly $200US shipping from MF, Sweetwater and Music 123. Thomann have heaps of cool stuff that once you factor shipping in are cheaper then buying from the states at least for me here in Australia, I think they have free shipping to the UK and most of Europe as well for certain products.

they do charge on some stuff I believe.

They are very good actually, I have never ordered from them, but from a cost saving point of view, they seem very reasonable to buy from with shipping factored in.

Don't forget about your Aussie import tax and customs.

No import tax on items under $1000 AUD in worth which is really good and the import tax is pretty good. I have only heard good things about their customer service and such.
