Steve Vai on a Fender Supersonic?

I see some VHT(Fryette) heads in there too. Hey, and you gotta love that sweet violin player. She's hot.

Man, Steve Vai just gets better and better. That guitar body is sick!

As for the amp, the red LED is on, so it's not a dedicated clean amp. He's using it for gain. I'm assuming his hidden rack is what's feeding the 2 412's.

and people rag on kirk hammett for his over-use of wah pedal?

Damn, that was badass. I can't help but laugh when I see guys like that play. They're just so freakin awesome that that's all I can do. That sounded great when he and the violins were playing together.

Wait, it looks like the Super-Sonic Twin actually. The rhythm player undoubtedly sounds like the VHT.

Kirk can't use the wah like that. Very, very few people like Vai and Satch have such a command of the wah.

There's just something amazing about witnessing a guy who just looks like he's having the time of his life every time his fingers touch a string. Listening to Vai is something out of this world. Watching the man in action just takes it out of the Milky Way.

Also, except for the stripe-y stuff on his guitar, Wiener's guitar on the original video looks suh-weet!

+1. I've seen him twice, and I'll see him again every time he comes to town. Best concert I've been to, no question. His interaction with the audience, not just between but during songs, is pretty rare in the concert experience, from what I've seen. It's doesn't seem like he's working when he's onstage, or even playing a concert. It's more like he's spending an evening with his fans, and everyone's having a blast.

^^^^^^
Seen him three times, the last time was this tour. There were three others with me, two other guitarist and a piano man. On the way home we ask the piano man what he thought. "All the musicians were masters of their instruments, but Vai was the instrument." Watching him live up close is just phenomenal.

It is like a pervert John Tesh vid, or Yanni LIVE IN HELL..... Amazing, yet annoys me greatly.

He is an absolute monster. I can actually watch him and enjoy, but still can't watch most guys of this genre.

Re: Steve Vai on a Fender Supersonic?

Does anyone besides me hear a lot of Return To Forever / Old school jazz-fusion / Corea-DiMeola-Pont-Mclaughlin in that???

Re: Steve Vai on a Fender Supersonic?

If you ever get the chance to see Vai live, do it.

One of the true greats on a guitar.

Same here. He's a master and talented as hell, but he plays so perfect, and his music is so perfected that it has no human feel to it.

Satriani Still manages to rock out, Malmsteen still sounds brutal. I think Vai is just another total different genre of music I'm not in to, kinda like electric jazz
